Last week my husband and I attended a very intimate party with a performance by Michael Feinstein. The talented singer, song writer and pianist is also the founder of the Great American Songbook Foundation located in Carmel, Indiana.
The foundation celebrates American composers and the fabulous music they created. At the event, Michael introduced two of The Songbook Academy’s gifted graduates: Nick Ziobro and Julia Goodwin. An extra treat was a surprise performance of Our Love is Here to Stay by the great legend, Steve Lawrence! The program is dedicated solely to music from Broadway, Hollywood musicals and the Tin Pan Alley era. I was so glad to hear that the American Songbook will be extending nationwide this year! Michael Feinstein’s mission is that this music not be forgotten. I would encourage you to get involved by making a donation to support the Great American Songbook so that future generations never forget and continue to enjoy this iconic music.
